Five Arrows, Oxshott, Surrey, England

In the early 1950s, Baron Eugène von Rothschild (1884-1976) purchased a substantial 26-room house in Copsem Lane, Oxshott, Surrey as an English country home for himself and his second wife, Jeanne (née Stuart) (1908-2003) whom he had married in 1952.

The property had been owned by the chairman of a shipping company and was known as 'Rassay' after a Scottish island. Baron Eugène renamed the house 'Five Arrows' and had hundreds of blue and yellow bulbs planted in the grounds.

The couple also maintained a house on Long Island, NY, before finally settling in Monte Carlo.
