Charlotte Louise Adela Evelina (Evelina) Rothschild (1873-1947)

Charlotte Louise Adela Evelina Rothschild was born on 3 April 1873, the only daughter of Nathaniel Mayer and Emma Rothschild. She was always known by her last name, Evelina.

She married Clive Behrens on 4 October 1899 and moved to Yorkshire to live at Swinton Grange, Malton, where the couple's three children were raised.

Evelina was not a flamboyant woman; she dressed in a plain style and was keen to instil in her children a sense of reserve and restraint.

She died on 9 May 1947.
