Victoria Katherine Rothschild (1953-)

Victoria Katherine Gray (née Rothschild) is the daughter of Nathaniel Mayer (Victor), 3rd Lord Rothschild (1910-1990) and Teresa Georgina, Lady Rothschild (née Mayor) (1915-1996).

She is a writer and author of several volumes of poetry and works on linguistics and English literature. In 1997 she married the late playwright, diarist, novelist and screenwriter Simon Gray (1936-2008).

Victoria Gray founded, and is the Executive Director of, Give a Book, the charity that promotes books and the pleasure of reading in the hardest places, mainly working in prisons and with disadvantaged children and communities around the UK.  

Victoria Gray was elected as an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2021.
