Biographical portrait of the French artist Jean-Baptiste Simeon Chardin (1699-1779), through selected contemporary biographies, correspondence and reproductions of his paintings. Henri had a fine collection of paintings by Chardin, and staged an exhibition of Chardin's work at the gallery on the ground floor of his theatre, the Pigalle, in 1929.
