Short addresses on moral virtues, based on the Jewish faith, followed by a prayer for strength in these virtues. Conceived for children of families like the author's own and not considered by her to be of universal application. A subsequent edition (London: Hatchards, 1888) includes four additional chapters. A German edition, translated and with a preface by Leopold Stein, with approved revision, as: Gedanken einer Mutter über biblishe Texte: in Reden an ihre Kinder (Frankfurt a. Main, 1861). Profits from this edition were sent to the Prestlozzi Association. A subsequent edition was published in 1885. A French edition, translated as: Pensées suggérées par des textes de la Bible: dédiées à mes enfants by Baroness Charles de Rothschild (Paris: Protat Frères [printer], 1893 vi, 197pp). A Ruissian edition, translated as: Reci materi, vnusennyja tekstami iz Biblii (Vil'na: Romma, 1891).
