Report and evidence from the parliamentary Committee of Secrecy on the Bank of England Charter, 1832, which investigated the role of the Bank of England and the British system of banking and currency. Nathan Rothschild gave evidence on exchange rates and the market for gold. The transcript of his evidence appears at pp. 381-393.
