Describes Lord Rothschild's investigation into the dating of decorative enamelling on a gold cup in his collection, originally owned by Mayer Karl Rothschild. The cup was probably made by Francis Nelme in England in the eighteenth century. 'After much heart searching' the enamelling was removed.
