Novitates Zoologicae: a Journal of Zoology
Zoological Museum Tring 1894-1973
Lionel Walter (Walter) Rothschild Miriam Louisa Rothschild Nathaniel (Charles) Rothschild With Karl Jordan, Ernst Hartert
Notes
The journal's principal remit was the description of newly collected or identified species of animals. In the beginning, the descriptions of newly collected species of animals was mainly drawn from the collections at the Zoological Museum, Tring. The Hon. Walter Rothschild's contribution is substantial, as are those of his curatorial team of Hartert and Jordan. Charles Rothschild makes occasional contributions. On the death of the founder-editor Walter Rothschild in 1937 the editorship was continued briefly by Miriam Rothschild, before coming fully under the auspices of the British Museum (Natural History) in 1940. Note: the complete set of copies held by the Natural History Museum have been digitised by the Biodiversity Heritage Library; these can be found on its website.
